SLBC welcome Pat Murphy to the management team

SLBC is delighted to welcome to the management team Pat Murphy. Pat recently retired from the malting industry where he has worked for the past 25 years as Commercial and Purchasing Director with Greencore Malt. His duties included sourcing malting barley for production of malt in Ireland, England , Scotland and Belgium. His responsibilities included a total purchasing demand of nearly a million tonnes of malting barley for all the major brewers not only in Ireland but across the world. As Commercial Director he was also responsible for all malt sales in Ireland particularly the sales of malt to the largest brewing company in Ireland.

Over a period of time the traceability of malting barley has become a major concern for leading brewers and Pat has developed this to a fine art something which is very important to us at Strangford Lough Brewing Company.

Pat is joining us to bring his skills on traceability, quality and his experience on purchasing where he understands the malting industry very well worldwide particularly in Northern Europe and even more so in Ireland where he will be responsible for all malt purchases.
