Local company’s guide to finding best bars in US - Down Recorder Article 3rd February 2010
Everyone knows Irish bars have the best beer, the best customers and the best craic - but can you always find one when you’re abroad?
The locally-based Strangford Lough Brewing Company hopes to help by launching the bigest online directory for Irish bars in the US.
Featuring over 2,400 Irish themed bars across all US states, Irish Beer Finder.com is free for everyone to use. Users can search for Irish Bars by state, address or zip code and a list of nearby bars will be displayed. The directory also displays a map with the location of the bar pinpointed on it, along with further information on bar facilities.
Emma McCarey, of the Strangford Lough Brewing Company, explained the site also allowed users to rate and review Irish bars they have visited.
“We have made Irish Beer Finder very easy to use and we hope that everyone will get involved,” she said. “We have big plans for Irish Beer Finder, we are hoping it will become the ‘Wikipedia’ of Irish Beer!”
Irish bands can also get involved in Irish Beer Finder by sending further details of tour and gig dates to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
The Strangford Lough Brewing Company is launching Irish Beer Finder tomorrow, ahead of unveiling their range of traditional Irish Ales across the US. They will be launching two beers in America for St. Patrick’s Day 2010 - Legbiter Ale and St Patricks Best Ale, with more to follow.
