From California to Connecticut, Find your Irish Bar online!

There are Irish bars from Boston to Seattle and Tel Aviv to Kathmandu, but can you find one when you need one? Walk down any street and the bar that is buzzing and overflowing with fun loving customers is Irish. Everyone knows Irish bars have the best beer, the best customers and the best ‘craic’. Now an Irish Beer Company, Strangford Lough Brewing Company (SLBC), is launching the biggest online directory of Irish Bars in the USA!

The directory is the biggest of its kind and features over 2,400 Irish themed bars across all 50 US states. Irish Beer Finder.com is free for everyone to use - for bars to be listed and for users to find their nearest Irish beer. Users can search for Irish Bars by state, address or zip code and a list of nearby bars will be displayed. Irishbeerfinder.com displays an address, zip code, phone number, website and email address for each bar. The directory also displays a map with the location of the bar pinpointed on it, along with further information including bar profile, logo, photographs and links to bar menus, Facebook or MySpace pages (if available).

Emma McCarey, Marketing Executive at Strangford Lough Brewing Company said, “We have made Irish Beer Finder very easy to use and we hope that everyone will get involved. We have big plans for Irish Beer Finder, we are hoping it will become the ‘Wikipedia’ of Irish Beer!”

Irish Beer Finder allows users to rate and review Irish bars they have visited. You can rate Irish bars using the SLBC droplet rating system with the extra option of writing a review of your experiences. Irish quizzes are also available on the site which can be downloaded for pub quizzes, fundraisers or family gatherings, testing your knowledge of the beautiful island of Ireland.

Strangford Lough Brewing Company recently ran a very popular online Battle of the Bands (BOTB1) competition with the prize being a trip and gig in Las Vegas for the winning band. Grace Mercer, BOTB1 organiser said, “Battle of the Bands was a great success! Over 60 bands entered our Irish Music competition and the winning band, “The Rogues” will be performing in Diablo’s, Light Management Group (LMG) in Las Vegas on St Patrick’s Day 2010. BOTB1 gave us the opportunity to talk to Irish bars across the USA, all of which are featured in Irish Beer Finder. Look out for Battle of the Bands 2 which will be launched soon with an amazing prize of a trip to Ireland for the winning band.”

Irish bands can also get involved in Irish Beer Finder by sending further details of tour and gig dates to emmam@slbc.ie. The dates, along with a short summary and contact details for the band are displayed as a news item and Irish bands will benefit from increased exposure to the high volume of traffic which visits Irish Beer Finder.

Strangford Lough Brewing Company, Ireland are launching Irish Beer Finder on 4th February 2010, ahead of unveiling their range of traditional Irish ales across the US. They will be launching two beers into America for St Patrick’s Day 2010 – Legbiter Ale and St Patrick’s Best Ale with the others following shortly behind. Tony Davies, Managing Director at SLBC said, “While not every Irish bar will stock our beer we thought this to be a good place to start in bringing ‘Irishness’ to America.”

If you want to find an Irish Bar in North America trust Irish Beer Finder to point you in the right direction. SLBC plan to expand the Irish Beer Finder database to include Irish bars in other countries, including Canada, so stay tuned.
