Legbiter Ale Steamed Shrimp

Legbiter Ale Steamed Shrimp

Ingredients:

12 ounce Legbiter Ale
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/8 tsp salt
2 pounds medium-sized raw shrimp in shell
2 stalks celery




Cooking Instructions:

1. In a large saucepan or stewpot, combine the ale, lemon juice and salt

2. Place your steamer basket in the pot, making sure that the bottom of the basket is well above the beer.

3. Place the celery in the basket, cutting it to fit if necessary. Add the shrimp. Cover.

4. Boil the beer and lemon juice then reduce to a simmer. Steam the shrimp until they all turn pink. Be sure to check the middle and bottom of the pile as the shrimp on the top tend to change color first.

If you prefer chilled shrimp, fill a large bowl with ice and just enough water to cover. Then pour in the cooked shrimp and stir for a few minutes until they are properly chilled.

Cook Time: 20 minutes
